Landlords and tenants, personal and commercial, great or small, every occupancy begins with a written lease. It is often assumed than most language is “standard,” and moreover, the majority of that language is skipped over by either party. In reality, lease terms can vary wildly – nearly every provision is fungible, and even the slightest variation in terms can have significant effects down the road.
