The Honnold Foundation
When professional rock climber Alex Honnold approached our founder, Maury Birdwell, about his vision to help change the world a conversation began that would eventually give rise to the Honnold Foundation. The mission is simple: Improving lives through sustainability. The Foundation seeks out environmentally sustainable answers to the problems that face our planet, answers which also have a net-positive impact on the user’s life.
In addition to providing general legal counsel to the Foundation, Maury serves as the Executive Director.

Employment Agreements, Purchase Agreements, Settlements, Non Compete Agreements, General Contracts for Services, these are just a few examples of the myriad documents businesses use to guarantee performance and understanding of the terms between themselves and other parties.
Regardless of your posture – creating the contract or simply reviewing a proposed agreement – our experience provides assurance that the deal you propose and accept means what you want, and not anything you don’t.
Today’s legal world has evolved to make otherwise simple exchanges a complex endeavor. A simple handshake is not enough. Without precise attention to detail and consistent dedication to your priorities it is easy end up with an agreement that leaves you in a place other than intended. Having an attorney who understands your goals and the importance of seemingly innocuous terms provides a pathway to success, on both sides of the table.
Your enterprise has an interest in protecting the confidential information that gives you an advantage over your competitors. In fact, this is often the very lynchpin of what sets you apart. Without the proper steps to ensure secrecy, that advantage will be lost, and once Pandora’s box has been opened there is no closing it again.
Drafting non-disclosure agreements, covenants not to compete, and advising you on the proper steps to take are some of the key ways our firm will ensure your secrets remain solely yours.
Attorney & Founder
A belief in the power of the law to shape and enable success led Maury to earn his law degree at Georgetown University Law Center. After studying under and alongside some of the greatest legal minds in the country he immediately ‘fled’ back West to establish his home in Boulder. His passion is to help people and organizations succeed by lending his knowledge and expertise.
As a member of the Colorado National Guard, Maury has served with the 19th Special Forces Group – attending schools such as Basic Airborne and the Special Operations Combat Medic Course. He is currently assigned to the Judge Advocate General’s office providing legal advisement for our state and nation’s armed forces.
